Our primary goal is to train you as a complete self-defense athlete in the weapon, stand-up, clinch and ground ranges of armed and unarmed combat utilizing the techniques and training methods of contemporary mixed martial arts to develop the
physical and mental attributes to be able to survive a street self-defense situation. We train to be effective first for survival, then make adjustments to the training for those wishing to compete in combat sports such as MMA, boxing, kickboxing and Brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments.
Both a street fight and a competitive bout can flow through all the ranges of combat depending on the environment and the rules. Every technique and training method has a specific purpose in training your body to react reflexively against resisting opponents. We aren't show, we are for function. The primary systems we borrow from to meet our needs are Kali, Thai boxing, western boxing, panatuken boxing, wing chun, savate, greco - roman and freestyle wresting, judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Our training comes through the Jeet Kune Do lineage of Bruce Lee and Dan Inosanto, passed on to us through our affiliations with Burton Richardson and Rick Faye.
Jimmie Johnson has been training in martial arts for 25 years and teaching for 13 years. His background includes Tae Kwon Do, wrestling and Judo, discovering Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, Kali and Jeet Kune Do. Along his martial arts journey, he has had the privilege of studying under world renowned instructors such as Burton Richardson, Rick Faye, Greg Nelson and Erik Paulson.
